Curioddities 2026: Novella Obscura

The Henning Cultural Center is a community resource and available to help anyone interested in exhibiting. There is no age limit or experience required to enter this gallery show.

Curioddities: Novella Obscura is our annual dive into the strange, the whimsical, and the stories hiding between the lines. This year, the Henning Cultural Center becomes a living storybook of oddities—a gallery transformed into a hybrid of literary mythmaking, theatrical installation, and visual storytelling.

Inspired by literature, fairytales, myths, folklore, poetry, journals, fables, and the written word in all its forms, this exhibition invites artists to interpret worlds both familiar and obscure. Whether your work pulls from childhood storybooks, ancient epics, eerie letters, beloved novels, or lyrics that live in your soul, this is a space for the imaginative and the uncanny.

NO ENTRY FEES — A COMMUNITY COLLABORATION

Hosted by the Brimstone Historical Society & Sulphur Parks & Recreation, the Curioddities show is free to enter, free to display, and free to sell work through. This exhibition is an accessible space for artists of all levels.
