Chaos Theory Art Show: Call for Artists & Grant Opportunities

cha·os the·o·ry - Chaos theory explains that within the visible randomness of complex, chaotic systems, there are inherent repetition, patterns, self-organization, interconnectedness, self-similarity, and constant feedback loops.

Since 2008, the Brimstone has hosted the Chaos Theory Art Show, an annual celebration of nostalgia, pop culture, and creative chaos. Open to all artists—geeks, gamers, cosplayers, and creatives—this community-driven exhibit features bold, vibrant, and unpredictable works that span every fandom, art form, and aesthetic. Each year, a sub-theme is introduced to inspire new interpretations.

The 2025 sub-theme is: Chaos Theory: Future
(But as always, submissions of any theme are welcome!)

This year, we’re also offering grant opportunities to support participating artists. Funding may be available for:

  • Framing or printing

  • Supplies for new works intended for the show

  • Installation proposals

  • Social media/video promotion support roles

The official submission form will go live mid-July, but to get early alerts and updates, [sign up here (Google Form link)].

Standard gallery guidelines: No graphic nudity, gore, or offensive content.

No fees to enter, no age limits, and no gatekeeping—just creativity, community, and chaos.

Proudly supported by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury and the Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana. Hosted by the Brimstone Historical Society and Sulphur Parks & Recreation.
