Exhibit Information

The Brimstone Historical Society is proud to present a new art exhibit entitled "Chaos Theory."  This exhibit features nearly 30 artists, with over 15 different art styles!  The artists include: an elementary school student, a database programmer, graphic designers, teachers, a tattoo artist, and more!

Thom Trahan, the director of the museum, describes the exhibit: "This show started as an idea over a year ago.  Lori Dugas, the gallery's Assistant Director at the time, mentioned how great it would be to have an exhibit which featured a large amount of artists, with no specific theme.  The idea is that in this display, ?randomness' rules over form."

In the Chaos Theory exhibit, the pieces themselves are not necessarily all abstracts or unusual in and of themselves.  The real chaos comes in when you see one artist's work right next to someone else's, when there is no link between the two pieces.

"Chaos Theory" was done as an experimental art show, to see if the community would participate in an exhibit, and so far, it has received great feedback.  Mr. Trahan notes: "Many people are unsure of how to approach a gallery to have their work displayed.  The Chaos Theory exhibit gave us the ability to open up the gallery to new and established artists at the same time."  This exhibit will likely return next year, so interested artists should contact the Brimstone Museum at 527-0357.

This exhibit will be on display from September 17th - October 15th, and can be viewed during our normal business hours from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., and then from 1 - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.  Our Saturday hours are from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.  The Henning Cultural Center is located at 923 Ruth Street in Sulphur.
