A Kid's Eye View of Sulphur
4th and 5th grade SPARK students at the R.W. Vincent Elementary SPARK Center took part in a history project this school year.  They studied the history of Sulphur and took a field trip to photograph some of the prominent and historical sites in Sulphur.

An exhibit of the students' photographs, entitled "A Kid's Eye View of Sulphur," will be on display throughout the month of May.  The public is invited to attend.  For more information, please call 527-0357.

Welcome!
Thank you for visiting the Brimstone Museum web site!

Our mission is preserving and enriching the culture of Southwest Louisiana.  To accomplish this goal, we are currently working on a permanent exhibit on the history of the sulfur industry and how it has played a role in developing the city of Sulphur, Louisiana.

We also have the Henning Cultural Center which contains cultural traveling exhibits from around the country and here locally in order to make them available to the residents of Sulphur and the surrounding region.  Visitors to our area are always welcome too!

We are open Monday - Friday: 10 AM - 12 & 1 - 5 PM and Saturday: 11 AM - 3 PM.  There is no admission cost, but donations are always welcome.  If you would like to become a member, there are forms available at the Henning Cultural Center or at the Brimstone Museum.  You may also call and request one by fax or by email.

Please browse our site to see what we currently have on display and upcoming events, festivals, or exhibits.
